Geeklog Usage Stats [GUS] Plugin

PluginsThe Geeklog Usage Stats [GUS] plugin collects statistics on who visits your site, which browser and operating system they are using, which pages they view, and which links they are clicking to get there. It allows the administrator to browse these stats through a series of tables, getting right down into the data they're interested in.

This plugin is based on the Stats plugin by Tom Willett and John Hughes. The major difference between the two plugins is the layout of the database and, as of the latest version, CSS for the tables. Reports from testers indicate that it requires about half the space in the database and is noticeably faster.

GUS provides an interface for importing your data from the stats plugin v1.2 or v1.3.

The latest version adds a new way to look at IP addresses and uses CSS for tables so it may be customised more easily for different themes.

You can find a couple of screenshots or download it through my geeklog software page, or you can download it right here on geeklog.net.

Hi I installed GUS and commend you for the easy of installation and the speed of the plugin. It appears faster than VStats.

I do have one comment though. I notice that there are some members who have signed on but their accounts have not been logged. I am wondering if you have encountered this problem on your site.

Specific users are not capture even though they and their IP have not been ignored. In fact, I have removed the list of IPs under Ignore IP Addresses and users under Ignore Users.

Any comments? Thanks

Anyone notice that clicking on the stats button to prevent data collection on particular IP (like googlebot, msnbot, etc) eventually stops working? I was trying to block data collect on bot addresses. Each morning I'd look at the GUS log an click the stats button, after a couple of week I'm sure there were 30 or 40 IPs with stats off. After that click the stats button did not change anything.

Hi,

Thanks for this nice plugin. There is however a tiny error that gave me a huge headache: In gus/language/dutch.php there is an empty line at the end of the file that resulted in a "Failed to set session cookie" error on my site.
