Gallery 1.3.3-Geeklog 1.3.7 integration

AnnouncementsGallery 1.3.3 has been released. This is an important security fix to Gallery 1.3.2.

I have created a new Gallery-Geeklog integration package that works with Gallery 1.3.3 and Geeklog 1.3.7

This integration of Geeklog and Gallery was helped immensely by Vincent Furia and, of course, the many other people who have worked on this task in the past.

In addition to fixing the problem greated by changes to lib-security.php in Geeklog, this integration set restores the Gallery LOGGEDIN user.

If you want to limit access to only registered users, set the Gallery Users who can see the album to LOGGEDIN. This prevents anonymous users from seeing an album.

You can download the integration files here.

I've succeeded to a point then this problem hits me at the end of the installation..

1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'WHERE name = 'whosonline_block'' at line 1

No relation with this intergration but somehow cause this problem.. I'm using IIS and apparently someone else is also having the same problem. Have you all seen this problem before? Please advise..

Thanks..

UPDATE Gallery 1.3.3-Geeklog 1.3.7 integration

The Geeklog 1.3.7-Gallery 1.3.3 integration package has been updated to include a fix that allows Gallery to user mod_rewrite friendly URLs while wrapped inside Geeklog.

You can download the files here. Eventually these files will be on gplugs.sf.net as well.

The change is discribed in the README.TXT. If you have already installed the package, just copy gallery/util.php over the existing file.

This is awesome John, it fixed some bugs I had with my previous integration but my New Albums block no longer works?

Where can I get a copy of your "New Albums" block? I'll see if I can get it to work on one of my sites.
Geeklog Groups in Gallery

John,

Just curious if you had any ideas on methods to add geeklog groups into the geeklog/gallery integration implementation. If so, send them my way, it's something I'd like to see done (and something I'm willing to work on).

Gallery 1.3.3-Geeklog 1.3.7 integration - LOGOUT SECURITY ISSUES
Authored by: Anonymous on Tuesday, May 06 2003 @ 05:59 PM EDT
Gallery and GL use different cookies to manage user login. As a result, when you log in and then out of GL, you will NOT be logged out of Gallery and thus allow anyone to access your restricted access Gallery via the browser history. Closing your browser completely might address this issue, but there is a sure-fire way that sagnaing has given.

I think other users trying to integrate Gallery with GL would appreciate the most recent thread:

This worked great for me - until I found this posting, I almost had to give up using the GL / Gallery combination.

Thanks to you all !!
