GeeklogI understand that there will be a 1.3.6 and 2.0, on separate development paths. I need to make one of my GL sites easy for my successor to upgrade, so want to avoid using PhpLinks/Forum plugins. Will there be proper categories in the 1.3.6 release? and will there be some form of threaded discussion forum? Also, what is a reasonable timescale for 1.3.6? Are we looking at a month, or six? A timescale would help me plan development of my site. Thanks for any input.

Cheers, Euan.

Sub-categories / forums: They will not be part of 1.3.6 as far as I can tell. And I would be surprised to see them in any 1.3.x release at all.

As for the release date: It should be closer to one month than to six month away. It\'s really hard to tell. I would like to see a couple of bugs squashed before I would consider 1.3.6 ready for release. And we need to do some pre-release coordination with regards to translations and themes (there will be theme changes in 1.3.6).

On my must-fix list (pretty pretty please?!) are:

1] < > \\\\ input in HTML stories (it appears to be partly broken in 1.35x for the backslash even in plaintext, based on my input for this story ... you need to use two backslashes to make one appear, but at least two continue to show in the input box).

2] $ bug in 1.35x builds (may be fixed already, but behaved oddly in HTML mode, as the $ was converted to the HTML entity in the input box when I tested it in this comment)

Things I\'d like to see ... an easy migration for us 1.1 stalwarts ;-).

griffman,

I think you know about the
...
pseudo tags we introduced for 1.3.6? Wouldn\'t these help?

If not - I assume you know how to write a bug report ;-)

The $ issue is mostly solved in CVS already (doesn\'t work properly in the story title yet, but does in the story text).

Trust me, I\'ve reported the \\ > < glitch more times than Tony would care to mention ;-). It\'s in the list somewhere...

I haven\'t seen the
thing; the last build of 1.35 I installed was a while back, though. I spent quite a bit of time on it before realizing that I needed a few of the gotchas fixed before I could migrate...

It\'s going to be great, I know! I\'m just a bit afraid of my site\'s security given the unpatched holes that probably exist in 1.1...
