New Theme Mockup

GeeklogI've been hard at work on the new theme for our central Geeklog site. Check it out at http://webtopia.sf.net/gl.sf/ and provide some feedback on how it renders on your browser. Currently, Netscape v4.x is broken, but I'm working on it.

It\'s looking sharp! I\'m currently working on a site just for geeklog themes at http://geeksta.com. I\'ve only been using geeklog for a couple weeks, so I\'m still getting familiar, and changing some hard coded html. The theme I\'m currently developing is far from complete, it\'s more of a \"play around\" thing, just having fun ;)

I\'m curious as to what folks are looking for in a theme. The 3 current themes seem to work pretty well as standard \"blog\" themes, so I figured I\'d do something different.

Mark, I think you\'re theme r0x0r5. It\'s great to see anyone develop a theme and give it back to the community.

In that vane, Matty, your site rocks too. For just playing around, maybe you\'re a little too modest, you\'ve cooked up another great theme IMO.

Keep it up guys

Matty, that is a good looking theme! You should make a tarball of that and email me the URL...I\'ll add it to our Themes section!

The reason people blame things on previous generations is that there\'s only one other choice.
Thanks

Thanks Tony and dreamscape, it\'s only about 2/3rds done right now. To be sure though, as soon as it\'s 100%, I\'ll tar it up and offer it for d/l.

On Windows XP (Classic) looks very good - boxes line up, text is indented appropriately,
borders display, head is seamless on
Internet Explorer 6, Opera 6 and Netscape Navigator 6.

It is not as polished looking in NS 4., but is certainly usable. Actually it looked fine until I checked it in the other browsers.

Looks cool .... maybe make the page a bit larger ... is there a way to get rid of the numbers like sites (9/0) etc etc ...

thx
The articles/submission count

I\'m pretty sure you can turn off \"the numbers\" in the config file.

You sure can, and Matty is right, via the config file.

Currently, this is not an issue HTML-wise as it\'s all one string. However in my new theme, it\'s set out different, as it\'s using HTML tables (to support friggin Netscape v4.x).

Still, I\'ll figure it all out and have it running soon.

Tested the design in Netscape 4.x (4.7) and it didn\'t come through too nicely.

I recommend giving it a test.

It looks sexy as hell in MSIE, I\'ll give you that. I dig the idea of the boxes going beyond the main design. Very free thinking.

Matt, Keep it up. You rock...
